“Scared of Spiders?”

07 Jan

I was surprised when my latest purchase clattered onto the floor via the letterbox.  Somehow I expected the Spiders to be bigger.  After all they are designed to attach to ones feet, which are slightly bigger than letterbox size.  By way of comparison my new Photoshop Elements arrived a few days before and comprised such a volume of cardboard that it would never have made it through the side gate never mind the letterbox…overkill for a DVD case, but that’s Amazon for you.

Hand size (small) flat plastic plates in unmistakeable bright yellow, the Spiders are very light.  The points of the studs on the sole are flat so should not cause significant discomfort to the Fatdog should she get too close.  Damage could be limited to, for example, the loss of an eye as opposed to possible disembowelling after coming into contact with a rogue crampon.

"Scared of Spiders?"

"Scared of Spiders?"

They appear to be held on by a single fabric strap which fits behind the heel and then over the top of the boot.   I’m not sure about the plastic catch (which looks a bit flimsy for the great outdoors at ground level) and the fold up plastic tabs at the side which may weaken with continual bending.  The proof of the pudding will be in the wearing and judging by the weather updates for the weekend it looks like they won’t be needed soon.

I may need to purchase a canoe however.

Have been looking at these as well. Will probably get a pair for next year. Will be interested to hear how you get on with them.

PS Well done on your TROTM win :D!
