Our Christmas Eve Dog Walk – with Snow!!!

26 Dec

Most places manage to look pretty in snow…even my fairly uninspiring part of the world.  Here’s a series of photos from The Fatdog’s walking route near where we stay.  This is a very unusual set of photos as we very rarely see snow.  We’ve had a few inches lying for over 7 days now and everyone is scratching their heads trying to remember the last time this happened…

Beautiful photos. I’m almost wishing that we had any likelyhood of ever having a White Christmas here, due to all the beautiful photos I’ve seen this year from northern realms. (However, in the unlikely event of such a happening, I’d probably be wishing for a warm sunny Santa time!!! (You can never please some people!)LOL)

PS – Did your Pukeko arrive?

Many thanks for the pukeko card Annie :D. It arrived a couple of days before Christmas – I’ll have to put it in a frame! Unfortunately I have prints from our Canada trip of 2005 which still have to be framed 😳 so the framing may not happen in the next couple of days.

We’ve had snow on the ground for over a week now and had an actual snow flurry on at least 4 separate days. I don’t recall that ever happening here before. Mostly we’ll see 1 maybe 2 days of snow in a year and it’s mostly gone within 24 hours.

Do you get winter snow where you stay Annie?

Good to hear the pukeko made it.

But LOL!! Sounds a remarkably similar situation to the photo frames that my little sis gave us about 3 Christmases ago to put photos of the dogs in. I found the frames the other day …. for some strange reason there are no photos of the dogs in them ……..

We live in PB’s home town, and I think in his life there has been snow on the ground twice, and once or twice more it’s fallen but not settled. We live in a decidedly unseasonal area – our seasons are either ‘raining’ or not raining.’ I think that’s why I enjoy autumn and snow photos so much.
