Diary Friday 12 March 2010

12 Mar

The Wednesday outing to the Munro Meall Chuaich proved to be a great success.  We were treated to blazing sunshine for most of the day and snow which, although variable, was neither too deep nor too hard to cause problems.

If only we knew how to hotwire this wee beastie!  Oh what fun we could have had…

On one of those The Fatdog might have had a chance of catching one of these…

On the summit the long thaw was under way leaving lace like ice behind…

But that was Wednesday.  Tomorrow will see The Fatdog and I near Bridge of Orchy for a spot of Graham bashing.  I don’t think tomorrow’s forecast is looking as kind…there’s a change in the weather on the way.

It’s a good dug hill Meall Chuaich. Apart from the unseen cattle grid on the path next to the aqueduct that Jorja nearly came to grief on when she set off after a rabbit.

It’s as well she can jump like a steeplechaser.

I do like the look of that Tactical Hare Pursuit Vehicle.

Maisie trotted up to the grid then veered off to the gate. Somehow she knows about gates…probably ’cause she doesn’t jump! The THPV was in use when we came back down…and a shot was heard 😯 in the distance.
