A Week in Wester Ross

05 Apr

“Oh Yes!”

mwis forecast:

“From the weekend onwards, a large high will become established just north of Scotland, bringing fine weather to all mountain areas.”

Fingers crossed.  J, The Fatdog and I are off to a cottage at Laide (between Torridon and Assynt) on Saturday.  Hopefully it will be a week of pleasant strolls and, with time off for good behaviour, the odd hill.  😀

In the past we’ve only gone up for a few days so this time I’m looking forward to a greater opportunity to see a bit more than in the past.

Last Easter our trip lasted 2 nights and we did all this…

    Hey there…

I hope the weather works out for you. I used to spend my holidays when i was a child at laide. Best holidays ever. Seen my first adder in the old church yard next to the caravan park. Keep us posted on how it goes.

I am hoping to get up that neck of the woods this year as well to check out Slioch.

    Regards
    Caraisla…

Hi Frank, Good to hear from you 😀 .

Must be a favourite part of the world for repeat hols. In October we were along at Mellon Udrigle and met a guy who’d been coming there since he was a lad and there he was with his young family.

Must remember to miss out the churchyard though 😆 !

Hope you manage to make it up yourself – Slioch might be a possible for me, but I’m trying to keep to a 5 hour day so it might be too long a walk this trip.
