Having a wee problem downloading photos from my camera – in fact – any of my cameras.  Using the Windows option it starts to download into a folder – then the computer crashes….frequently.  Anybody come across this?

    Eh…nope 🙂
Could you try another machine, then burn them onto a cd and then upload them to your machine ?
One other thing maybe relevant.I had trouble a while ago with HD movie recordings from my camera when trying to get Windoze to read them but it went away when I gave the computer a good kicking.

    Hi Fatdog,like your site.
Regarding the photo upload,i had problems with the browser uploader on wordpress with similar symptoms as yourself.Try uploading using the flash option.

Alex – thanks for that. Tried from a memory stick and using different cameras/cards – still did it. Good kicking seems a perfectly reasonable option 😀 Just now I’m thinking of putting them onto the laptop, then onto the external hard drive, editing them there, then uploading them onto an online storage for inclusion on the blog.

Hi Graeme – thanks for posting up 😀 . I’ll keep that in mind. Uploading to wordpress seems to be ok just now (fingers crossed) it’s just from camera to computer that seems to be the problem – once it’s in there it works fine after that.

From my first attempt to put photos in a Scottish Hills report: “I will give it a rest now, before I drop kick the PC through the window, and have another crack tomorrow.”

(Er, does that help? At all?)
