The Wester Ross Scribbles – The Inn at Badachro

02 May

I could have written something about the food or set the scene…but I’m not going to.  This was part of a relaxing day out; lunch then a walk along a beach.  I think the highlights are the photos.  Here are some from Badachro on a dismal, dreary day – well for those of you who weren’t there 😀 .

    Lucky youse!

It’s funny – we’ve been to that place three or four times, but because of our odd time-of-year holidaying patterns it’s not ’til I saw your photies that I realised I’ve never seen it in the daylight. 🙂

Wish my camera had a beer-autofocus option 😦

I’m sure J and I visited this pub circa 1980. Worst pub food I’ve ever had…that’s why I remember! Frozen fish, chips and veg. I’m pleased to say things have improved markedly…in 30 years 😯 . The beer autofocus made the glass look a awful lot bigger than it actually was! 😦

You’re looking very serious Ken. Is that because J has a drink and you don’t?

Enjoyed a weeks holiday in Badachro in 2007, not as much blue sky then but it was December I suppose.
I only made the pub one night as crossing the floating walk way from Dry Island on a wintry night was not so appealing!

I knew I had heard this story somewhere Alex! I think you maybe mentioned it in an email. I remember telling J about it as we sat on the deck at the Inn having lunch…but I couldn’t remember who had told me. Mystery solved! 😀
